With our first graders on a field trip, we had a small group today. But not to worry this small group had BIG ideas!
Wake Up Work - Students used their critical thinking skills to create 16 different mittens using just 4 colors. It is harder than it looks to not repeat a pattern!
Before heading out into the garden to plant our seeds, we observed them using a hand lens. We discovered not all seeds are round. The Zinnia and Marigold seeds look like tiny sticks!
Time to get our hands dirty by planting and watering our flower seeds in the school's community garden.
Students research Artic Animals by partner reading.
Black History Month Read Aloud - Amazing Grace had amazing perseverance and got the lead in Peter Pan despite what her classmates said about the color of her skin and the fact that she was a girl.
We ended the day with a fun game of sight word ZINGO during our Think Fun Time!
