2nd Grade Christmas in Australia

We have been pretending to run a donut shop during our Junior Achievement lessons, so today we had real donuts for our holiday snack...yummy!

Tis the seasoning of giving! Students brought in gently used toys to donate to Goodwill. Here are a few students during our "Show and Give" time.

We finally got to construct our musical instruments today! Students discovered how to modify their instruments to create better sounds. For example, this student figured out she could make the rubberbands vibrate longer if she used chop sticks to raise the bands off of the cardboard...brilliant idea!

We have been researching Australia so we borrowed some holiday traditions from the land down under and had ice cream during our holiday party. We also decorated surf boards and learned a song about 6 White Boomers pulling Santa's Sleigh.
