The students did a great job acting out the story from our 7 Habits of Happy Kids book. We discussed Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind and how it relates to goal setting.
Mr. Husein, a volunteer from Landstar, joined us today to share his expertise in the game of chess. His knowledge of the game and witty sense of humor made his presentation a huge hit with the kids! Luckily he has agreed to join us every Thursday to share his strategies and love of the game.

We began brainstorming ideas for the Science Fair and discussed testable questions. Wow, our 5th graders have amazing and original ideas! I sent home a parent letter explaining the Science Fair in more detail. Below is just an example of a Science Fair project board from a previous class.
Love the "chess" teacher! Joey has several boards at home and strategy books - maybe they'd be helpful to send them in? Also - science fair is exciting. It was all he could talk about in the car yesterday. -Karen Morris
