5th Grade Nerdy Skittles

In support and celebration of Mrs. Angela Phillips today was Nerdy Mathematician Day. Mrs. Phillips received the  Presidential Award of Excellence for Mathematics and Science Teaching for Florida.

These 3 students are dedicated to solving their Rubik's Cubes...getting closer to the solution!
I applied what I learned yesterday with my 3rd graders to winning this game of Battle Sheep...well at least I tied :)

We explored how to create Testable Questions today. Then we created a testable question for our Skittles Investigation...How many of each color are there in a regular-sized pack of Skittles?

This student used her "picture and logic smarts" to create a color-coded graph of her results before eating her data...yummy!
