4th Grade Pirates

It was a Marvelous Monday! I thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with my old students and meeting my new ones. I was so impressed with how the students have matured over the summer months. Collaborating and co-teaching with Mrs. Chascin and Mrs. Bartley was AMAZING...these kiddos are very lucky to learn from this dynamic duo this year! Enough about me...onto the students' work...

This morning the students got to choose a writing prompt that included their pirate name and ship they created last week. These 2 mateys were using the globe to decide where their pirate ships would sail on their voyage.
After completing the final draft of their paragraph, students designed pirate ship posters.
After lunch we took a nature walk around the school and used our Science Journals to record observations using our 5 senses. We also collected items from nature to measure back in the classroom.

All hands on deck...and Science Tools! We explored what we collected in our bags using microscopes, hand lenses, balances, and rulers. These measurements were also recorded in our Science Journal.

We ended our day with Think Fun choice activities that included an electricity lab, chess, marble maze, computer games, and a student-led art lesson!
