Our Class is Growing...we welcomed 3 new friends today!

Junior Achievement
Ms. Kim is our Junior Achievement Volunteer from CenterState Bank. She will be working with us over the next 5 weeks. Here is the JA 1st grade program summary...
JA Our Families explains how family members' jobs and businesses contribute to the well-being of the family and of the community. The program introduces the concept of needs and wants and explores the ways families plan for and acquire goods and services. Students analyze their own skills to determine ways they can support their families. If you are interested in learning more about JA, I have provided a link to their website. https://www.juniorachievement.org/web/ja-usa/home
What's inside our blue egg?
We made predictions before cracking open our blue egg from Ms. Szerba's chicken. No surprises here the blue shelled egg was just like any other chicken egg inside. Elle's prediction was correct! "Yellow yolk with a clear goo around it."

Bat Unit
We continued our Bat unit by reading aloud a nonfiction book and learning how bats use echolocation to find food. Did you know bats can eat up to half their body weight each night in pesky bugs like mosquitoes?
